Summit at Cottonwood is a private office building occupied by a number of tenants including the University of Phoenix, Don Chalmers Ford Corporate Offices and Energy Control Inc. (ECI). The facility is unique in that the building owner contacted ECI in the design phase for assistance in developing an energy efficient design.

 


 

 

The Summit at Cottonwood and ECI have had a relationship since 1995, built on the owners recognition that energy impacts both facility operations and building profitability. Energy costs make up 40% of the operations cost for an office building, and space conditioning is a key factor in maintaining tenants. ECI aided in mechanical / electrical design and completed building wide automation. Personal Computers for central and Internet-based monitoring were provided along with access control and all of the systems were financed through guaranteed energy savings
