Performance Contracting and Energy Services: ECI's focus with this initiative is to be the driving force in reducing customer energy costs. Performance Contracting is a process that facility owners may use to fund capital improvements through existing budgets by working with an Energy Service Company (ESCO).

 

 

Through this approach an owner enters into long-term installment payment contracts or lease purchase agreements of up to 10 years for the evaluation, recommendation, purchase and installation of energy conservation measures.

An ESCO provides a package of services and guarantees the savings; therefore it is in the best interest of the customer and ECI for the contract to include performance monitoring. This performance monitoring is provided to ensure that the guaranteed savings will occur. A written guaranteed is provided for energy savings and the associated cost savings will be summarized.

Eligible energy conservation measures, or capital renewal options, include a wide range of projects that reduce energy or operations and maintenance cost. ECI completed an Award Winning project at Albuquerque Academy that included $2,000,000 in capital improvements with guaranteed savings.
